Hey Andy, Evan here, from Alberta. I am planning a trip to the kootenays in September and I was wondering what golf courses people recommend. I have heard good things about the courses out your way. I’ve been golfing for almost 20 years and love to be challenged. I have a good long drive, and am a good putter. My short game is my weak point, but i’m working on it. Any courses suit my style of play?

Hello Rockies Golf Guide, nice to have find you. I am living in the United State in Washingon, South near Oregon. Our local course is called Beacon Rock. It is nice but not as mountainous as I imagine the course in the Rocky Mountain. My husband and I are talking about coming up to Banff area next fall to see the mountains since we have not been there yet, only from the plane have we seen them. Since we love to golf I would love to hear whate course people like. Thanks!

@Evan You might want to check out Bootleg Gap and The St Eugene Mission as they both allow for long carrys and have somewhat forgiving short games.

Though I always find water on both, if you can control your ball placements you will have a very enjoyable round.

@Fabiola If you are after scenery you can basically pull a course from a hat and not be disappointed in that category. What is your handicap like? There are some beautify courses that absolutely challenging and others that are much more forgiving.
